Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres Hardly Art-Debüts „THIS IS NOT AN EXIT“ im November 2023 hat das Los Angeles-Duo ill Peach ein dynamisches Cover des „TV On The Radio-Songs“ „WOLF LIKE ME“ auf allen DSPs veröffentlicht.
ill peach über die Nummer: “Last year, we got asked to do a cover for the “Meet Me in The Bathroom” documentary soundtrack. The doc is about the music scene in New York during the early 2000s. Quite possibly, all of our favorite bands are all in this one doc; Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, TV On The Radio, The Strokes, etc. The soundtrack fell through, and it felt weird to let this one sit on a hard drive. We used to see Tunde Adebimpe all the time outside of our studio space in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Felt like the right band to honor.”
Die „Saat“ für „Ill Peach“ wurde erstmals in den Aufnahmestudios von New York City gesät, wo Pat Morrissey und Jess Corazza als professionelle Songwriter zusammenarbeiteten. Seitdem haben sie mit Künstlern wie SZA, Weezer, Pharrell, Saint JHn, Icona Pop, aespa und Genesis Owusu zusammengearbeitet. Das Duo brauchte ein Ventil für ihre linksgerichteten, persönlichen Kompositionen, und so war „Ill Peach“ geboren.
