Brontez Purnell macht seit den 90er Jahren Musik. Er begann in seiner Jugend bei The Social Lies, einem Hardcore-Afro-Punk-Duo in Alabama, und sp\u00e4ter bei Gravy Train!!! Anschlie\u00dfend leitete er sein langj\u00e4hriges Projekt The Younger Lovers. Er ist au\u00dferdem T\u00e4nzer, Filmemacher, Choreograf (The Brontez Purnell Dance Company) und Autor von acht B\u00fcchern.<\/p>\n

Brontez sagt, \u201c\u2018Jaboukie\u2019 was originally called \u2018100 Boyfriends,\u2019 but I found out that apparently I can be sued for calling that song that since I named my book that (though the song was written waaaaaaaaaaaaay before the book). So then I was like, \u2018so which N**** am I gonna @ with this song.\u2019 And Jaboukie was the one who sent a DM text right after I had that thought! True story! So it’s for him\u2764\ufe0f. Also, it’s Sub Pop, so I had to rep with my fave Nirvana song from middle school.\u201d<\/p>\n
